What about getting information about financial activity of children in Dept of Human Services custody. I know DHS spends $512 /month on my children but they have $950 going into the general fund (SS survivors benefits). I just want to know what it is spent on. They told me I am not allowed the information because I do not have custody stating it is under HIPAA protection. No one seems able to tell me the exact law that denies me the information.
Can anyone help?
